Reviewer verdict

Across 35 YouTube reviews, the LG 45GX950A earns an Index score of 3.8/5, ranking #56 among Gaming Monitors. Reviewers most often praise its image quality, features, size & resolution, while the most common criticisms concern image quality, other.

This monitor is lauded for its stunning 45-inch ultrawide 5K2K OLED display, which, combined with an aggressive 800R curve, delivers an incredibly immersive experience for both gaming and productivity. Its standout feature is the versatile Dual Mode, allowing users to switch between the crisp native 5K resolution at 165Hz and a hyper-responsive 1080p resolution at 330Hz, catering to both cinematic single-player games and competitive esports. The high pixel density ensures sharp text, while the OLED panel provides perfect blacks, vibrant colors, and near-instantaneous response times. Excellent connectivity, including DisplayPort 2.1 and USB-C with 90W power delivery, further enhances its appeal as a premium, do-it-all display.

The monitor's biggest hurdles are its high price and the immense GPU power needed to drive its native 5K2K resolution at high frame rates. While the dual-mode feature is versatile, the lower-resolution 330Hz mode is frequently criticized for its blurry and soft image quality on the large 45-inch screen. Additionally, the aggressive 800R curve is a subjective drawback for some users, and the matte screen finish, while effective against glare, is said to reduce the color vibrancy found in competing glossy OLED panels. The lack of a built-in KVM switch at this price is also a common complaint.
