Reviewer verdict

Across 15 YouTube reviews, the Pura 80 Ultra earns an Index score of 4.2/5, ranking #10 among Smartphones. Reviewers most often praise its camera, design and build, display, while the most common criticisms concern camera, software.

The 80 Ultra is widely praised for its camera system, with many reviewers (127 mentions) highlighting the 50MP 1-inch main sensor, variable aperture, dual telephoto/periscope zooms and exceptional low-light, stabilization and zoom performance. Reviewers also frequently commend the premium design and build (50 mentions), noting durable Kunlun/crystal armor glass, a distinctive and comfortable finish, IP68/69 water resistance and a substantial but balanced feel. The display and battery also receive regular positive notes (22 and 16 mentions respectively), with reviewers pointing to a bright, high-resolution LTPO OLED with adaptive refresh and solid all‑day battery life plus very fast wired and wireless charging. Additional praise centers on smooth software responsiveness, strong performance and clear stereo audio, though these are mentioned less often than the camera and design strengths.

Criticisms focus heavily on camera limitations despite its strengths (23 mentions), including removal of a retractable lens, lack of higher-frame-rate/8K recording options, close‑focus limits for the long telephoto, occasional smoothing/distortion and noisy ultrawide/night ultrawide shots. Software is a major drawback for many reviewers (17 mentions), especially the absence of Google Mobile Services outside China and a dated or restricted app experience with no official Play Store support. Reviewers also point out practical design downsides (16 mentions) such as the very large camera bump, overall heft and smudgy/glossy surfaces that attract dirt, plus some concerns about performance chip generation and non‑in‑display fingerprint placement raised by a smaller number of reviewers.
