ATH-TWX7

Reviewer verdict

Across 22 YouTube reviews, the Audio-Technica ATH-TWX7 earns an Index score of 3.9/5, ranking #41 among True Wireless Earbuds. Reviewers most often praise its sound quality, controls and features, comfort and fit, while the most common criticisms concern sound quality, noise cancellation.

The ATH-TWX7 stands out for its high-fidelity sound, inheriting 5.8mm high-resolution drivers from a flagship model and supporting the LDAC codec for detailed, 24-bit audio. Reviewers consistently praise the balanced and natural sound profile, which features punchy, controlled bass and excellent vocal clarity. Comfort and a secure fit are ensured by a lightweight, ergonomic design and a generous variety of included ear tips. The feature set is robust, offering effective active noise cancellation, multipoint Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging, and clear call quality thanks to beamforming microphones. Extensive customization through the companion app, including a 5-band EQ and remappable hybrid touch/button controls, allows users to tailor the experience to their exact preferences, making for a well-rounded and versatile package.

The most frequently cited drawback is the absence of a wear detection sensor, meaning music does not automatically pause when an earbud is removed. While the active noise cancellation is effective against low-frequency rumbles, it does not compete with the top-tier performance from market leaders like Sony or Bose, struggling more with variable sounds like human speech. Furthermore, the battery life is considered merely adequate rather than class-leading. Some reviewers also note that the sound, while balanced, can lack excitement in the upper treble and sub-bass, and the case lid feels somewhat flimsy, slightly undercutting the otherwise premium feel.
