Reviewer verdict

Across 31 YouTube reviews, the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal PC PS earns an Index score of 3.7/5, ranking #37 among Gaming Headsets. Reviewers most often praise its comfort, connectivity, features, while the most common criticisms concern value, connectivity.

The Beoplay Portal PC PS is repeatedly praised for its strong, flexible connectivity and platform support, with many reviewers (45 mentions) highlighting Bluetooth 5.1, Xbox Wireless, USB‑C wired options, dongle performance and dual‑audio streaming. Reviewers also frequently note a rich feature set (44 mentions) — Dolby Atmos support, aptX Adaptive, ANC/transparency modes, touch/slider controls and an app with customizable EQ and modes — that make it versatile for gaming and media. Comfort and build are commonly applauded (41 and 10 mentions respectively), with lightweight construction, lambskin ear cushions, an adjustable headband and aluminium elements singled out for long‑wear comfort and premium feel. Sound quality receives steady positive attention (36 mentions), with many calling the audio detailed, immersive and well suited to music and movies as well as gaming in non‑competitive contexts.

The most consistent criticism targets the headset’s high price/value ratio (36 mentions), with reviewers repeatedly calling the $500 cost steep and questioning whether audio and features justify it. Connectivity issues and limitations are a frequent complaint (22 mentions), particularly inconsistent wireless behavior on the Xbox model, interference/popping, and restrictions around simultaneous Xbox wireless and Bluetooth use or unreliable dual‑audio performance. The microphone and competitive gaming suitability draw criticism (17 and 17 mentions respectively), with reviewers finding the virtual boom mic and voice pickup only adequate, prone to keyboard noise, and the tuning sometimes less accurate for competitive FPS positional cues. Other recurring downsides include polarizing touch controls, missing travel case, and comfort/fit niggles for some users.
