The Buds Air 5 Pro are repeatedly praised for their strong sound performance, with many reviewers (21 mentions) noting punchy bass, clear mids and highs, a detailed soundstage and features like a dual-driver setup and AAC/LDAC support that enhance audio detail. Reviewers also frequently highlight effective active noise cancellation and a useful transparency mode (18 mentions), saying ANC delivers substantial ambient noise reduction and consistent sound across modes. Battery life and charging receive positive comments (12 mentions), with multiple reviewers reporting long playback time estimates and fast-charge capability, and several note the earbuds offer excellent value for their price point (10 mentions). Other commonly mentioned positives include stable connectivity/multi-point support and plentiful features such as low-latency game mode and touch controls (9 mentions each).
Criticisms cluster around sound limits at very high volume and expectations for audiophile-level detail (7 mentions), with several reviewers reporting distortion or tinny highs at max volume and saying the buds may not satisfy extreme audiophiles. Connectivity/codecs and latency drew some negative notes (5 mentions), specifically the absence of aptX and comments that they are not as fast as some competitors, and a few reviewers linked ANC to codec limitations. Users also point out missing conveniences and control limitations (5 mentions) like no dedicated volume gestures or wireless charging, and fit/reliability concerns for active use (5 mentions) where some reviewers felt the earbuds might fall out during exercise. Minor complaints include the glossy/copycat design and some case durability issues (3 mentions each).
