EGF03 Espresso Coffee Machine

Reviewer verdict

Across 19 YouTube reviews, the Smeg EGF03 Espresso Coffee Machine earns an Index score of 4.2/5, ranking #15 among Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines. Reviewers most often praise its features, design/aesthetics, ease of use, while the most common criticisms concern features, ease of use.

The EGF03 Espresso Coffee Machine earns consistent praise for its feature set, with reviewers frequently highlighting the integrated conical burr grinder, steam wand that produces silky milk for latte art, a pressure manometer and up to 15-bar professional pressure, and useful accessories like a tamper, cleaning kit and multiple filter options (features cited in 56 mentions). Its retro, colorful design and compact footprint are commonly admired (29 mentions), and many reviewers note the machine is easy to use out of the box with simple controls and a helpful LCD (26 mentions). Other repeatedly mentioned strengths include fast heat‑up thanks to a thermoblock/dual thermolock system (16 mentions), solid build quality (14 mentions), and generally strong brew quality producing rich shots with good crema (13 mentions).

Criticisms center mainly on operational limitations and usability tradeoffs: several reviewers say the machine’s manual nature and learning curve make it less suitable for complete novices and that initial shots and milk texturing can require practice (ease-of-use issues in 12 mentions). Feature complaints include limited simultaneous steaming/extraction capability and light steam intensity for some users, plus a relatively small water tank capacity (features and related cons in 14 mentions). A smaller set of reviewers pointed out design constraints such as difficulty fitting two cups under the spout or tighter gaps for larger mugs, and some noted plasticky edges or hot external parts (design and build comments in 5–4 mentions).
