Reviewer verdict

Across 28 YouTube reviews, the Apple iPhone 16 Pro earns an Index score of 3.5/5, ranking #105 among Smartphones. Reviewers most often praise its camera, design and build, software, while the most common criticisms concern software, design and build.

The iPhone 16 Pro is widely praised for its camera system, with many reviewers (73 mentions) calling it the best iPhone camera yet thanks to higher-resolution ultrawide and detailed telephoto/macro performance, new 5x optical zoom, 4K 120fps video and advanced ProRAW/ProRes options. Reviewers also frequently applaud the refined design and build (47 mentions), citing thinner bezels, lighter grade‑5 titanium construction, durable finish and a slightly smaller, more pocketable footprint. Battery life and charging improvements (33 mentions) are commonly noted as a meaningful step up from prior models, with faster wired and MagSafe speeds and noticeably longer real‑world endurance. Software and display receive positive notes as well (31 and 26 mentions), especially iOS stability, privacy and a bright, fluid 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with 120 Hz smoothness.

Criticisms cluster largely around unfinished or uneven software features (57 mentions), especially Apple Intelligence and various iOS 18 quirks, missing or region‑limited AI functionality and some app glitches. Design complaints (34 mentions) focus on the new camera control button’s placement and accidental activation, mixed feelings about the lighter feel and minor bezel changes, and continued dust/lint issues around camera housings. Some reviewers feel the camera control feature itself is overhyped or not useful for average point‑and‑shoot users (19 mentions), and value concerns recur (18 mentions) with many saying the update is iterative and not compelling enough to justify upgrading for most people.
