The Laptop 16 (2025) is consistently praised for its highly modular, repairable design, with many reviewers (dozens across the set) noting tool-free or easy access, captive screws, magnetic connections, QR-coded parts, and fully replaceable components. Reviewers also frequently commend its solid build quality despite the modularity, calling the chassis sturdy and well thought‑out and highlighting military‑grade durability and clean internal organization (mentioned repeatedly). Other commonly cited strengths across multiple reviews include a capable 16-inch display with wide color coverage and high refresh rate, a useful selection of ports and hot‑swappable expansion cards, and respectable performance for a 45 W class machine with good thermals. Several reviewers additionally point to strong value for people who prioritize upgradability and long‑term ownership, saying the modular approach adds futureproofing and upgrade potential.

Reviewers commonly criticize tradeoffs from the modular design: many flagged a less solid, slightly hollow or seam‑filled feel and some palm‑rest/panel flex or wiggle, with alignment and fit‑and‑finish concerns mentioned often. Noise and fan behavior are repeated complaints, with multiple reviewers calling the fans very loud under load and reporting slow fan kick‑in; thermal and performance limits for sustained heavy work or high GPU loads were also noted. Cost and value came up as a recurring concern for many reviewers, who said the high upfront price and limited current GPU/CPU options make it hard to justify against competitors, and battery life and portability were frequently described as mediocre for a 16‑inch class laptop. Some reviewers also mentioned software/firmware update pace and occasional early issues, and a few pointed to limits or quirks with expansion card setup and the non‑hot‑swappable GPU module.
