Reviewer verdict

Across 18 YouTube reviews, the TCL QM8K Series 4K QD-Mini LED earns an Index score of 3.9/5, ranking #65 among TVs. Reviewers most often praise its picture quality, design & build, gaming features, while the most common criticisms concern picture quality, sound quality.

The QM8K Series 4K QD-Mini LED is widely praised for its exceptional picture quality, with reviewers (114 mentions) highlighting massive peak brightness, deep blacks, extensive local dimming zones, minimal blooming, and strong HDR performance across many formats. Reviewers also frequently compliment its premium design and build (26 mentions) — ultra-thin bezels, sturdy central stand, and a high-end remote — and its strong gaming features (19 mentions) such as a native 144Hz panel, low input lag, and VRR/FreeSync support. Connectivity and modern smart features (15 and 7 mentions) like two 4K@144Hz HDMI ports, Wi‑Fi 6, ATSC 3.0 tuner and Google TV are noted as positives, and many consider the TV a good value for its size and capabilities (14 mentions). The integrated Bang & Olufsen-tuned speakers and Dolby Atmos support are often mentioned as above-average for built-in audio (13 mentions).

Criticisms center on picture limitations compared with OLEDs (45 mentions), with reviewers noting that contrast and viewing angles are not quite OLED-level and some color/accuracy and uniformity issues persist out of the box. Several reviewers reported practical annoyances in design and build (7 mentions) — including fan noise at high brightness, plastic construction, and a nonstandard VESA pattern — and connectivity limitations (6 mentions) mainly that only two HDMI ports are full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1. Reviewers also caution that the built-in audio, while tuned by Bang & Olufsen, lacks deep bass for a true cinematic experience and that the TV’s price and marketing (e.g., the “8K” name despite a 4K display) leave some questioning value compared to OLED alternatives (7 mentions).
