Reviewer verdict

Across 14 YouTube reviews, the Samsung QN85D Neo QLED earns an Index score of 4/5, ranking #52 among TVs. Reviewers most often praise its picture quality, smart features, sound quality, while the most common criticisms concern picture quality, design & build.

The Samsung QN85D Neo QLED is widely praised for its picture quality, with reviewers frequently noting excellent 4K clarity, very high brightness, strong contrast and deep blacks thanks to mini‑LED local dimming and Samsung's AI upscaling (mentioned across most reviews). Many reviewers also highlight wide color gamut/volume and accurate out‑of‑the‑box colors, along with smooth motion and a 120 Hz panel suitable for sports and action. Secondary positives that a number of reviewers agree on include a capable smart platform and feature set, decent built‑in sound with Dolby Atmos/Q‑Symphony support, and a slim, well‑built design with good connectivity options (multiple HDMI 2.1 ports). Overall, praise is concentrated on its HDR performance, brightness, color handling and gaming/feature readiness as recurring strengths across the reviews.

Criticisms center primarily on picture limitations and processing: many reviewers point out the lack of Dolby Vision, imperfect handling of low‑quality/SDR content and some blooming or off‑angle color/contrast degradation tied to its VA panel and local dimming behavior. Other common complaints include occasional scaling/artifact issues on low bitrate sources, slightly inconsistent grayscale/gamma and a reflective anti‑glare treatment that some found less effective than competing sets. Fewer but repeated negatives note missing premium extras (no One Connect box), heavier build/installation concerns for very large sizes, limited DTS passthrough in audio, and UI/app quirks including default autoplay content and some cloud gaming hiccups.
