The Viomi S9 UV robot vacuum offers a compelling blend of convenience and cleaning power, but comes with a few caveats. Its standout feature is the automatic dirt disposal system, emptying the dustbin into a 3-liter bag within the dock. This means weeks, even months, of hands-free cleaning before needing to change the bag. Powerful 2700Pa suctio...

Reviewer verdict
Across 15 YouTube reviews, the Viomi S9 UV earns an Index score of 4.3/5, ranking #28 among Robot Vacuums. Reviewers most often praise its navigation, hard floor cleaning, cleaning performance, while the most common criticisms concern hard floor cleaning, maintenance.
The S9 UV is repeatedly praised for its strong, LIDAR-based navigation and mapping, with many reviewers (34 mentions) highlighting fast, precise room scanning, multi-floor/multi-map support, and reliable obstacle and cliff sensing. Reviewers frequently compliment its hybrid cleaning abilities—vacuuming plus electronic mopping with adjustable water flow and multiple dosing levels (26 mentions)—and note good overall cleaning performance, including effective edge and spot cleaning and dual cleaning passes (22 mentions). Suction power and battery life are also often cited (21 and 9 mentions respectively), with multiple reviewers noting high suction levels and long runtimes, while smart features and hands-free maintenance (app control, UV sterilization, automatic dirt disposal with large dust bag) receive repeated positive mention (21 and 19 mentions).
Criticisms focus most heavily on inconsistent or non-working mopping in some units (12 mentions), with several reviewers reporting the water tank not releasing water so the mop remains dry or can leave stains if left on the charging mat. Maintenance concerns appear as another common drawback (9 mentions), mainly the need to buy replacement dust bags, limited included consumables, and routine manual brush cleaning. Other recurring but less frequent negatives include slightly weaker cleaning compared with one other model in a few tests, occasional navigation limitations (four mentions), and potential ongoing cost or price concerns related to base station bags (three mentions).
