Reviewer verdict

Across 5 YouTube reviews, the TeamGroup MP44S earns an Index score of 3.9/5, ranking #39 among SSDs. Reviewers most often praise its performance, capacity, form factor, while the most common criticisms concern performance, durability.

The MP44S is repeatedly praised for strong PCIe 4.0 performance, with multiple reviewers noting high sequential read/write speeds and fast real-world performance across gaming and general use. Reviewers also highlight its compact single-sided 2230 form factor and generous capacities (1 TB and up to 2 TB) that pack big storage into a tiny drive. Several reviewers call out good power efficiency and thermal behavior (runs cool, graphene heat-dissipating label) and note the drive is an attractive value option at its price point. A minority additionally point to bundled software and a retail warranty as convenient extras.

Critics consistently point out that the MP44S uses QLC flash and is DRAMless, which leads to concerns about sustained write performance, endurance, and weaker random workload behavior; several reviewers specifically mention poor sustained write behavior. Some reviewers also warn that the drive isn’t the absolute fastest option and that Team drives can be hit-or-miss in reliability. A couple of comments raise marketplace concerns (fake reviews) and OEM/retail distinctions, and one reviewer notes the absence of DRAM or an SLC cache implementation.
