Reviewer verdict

Across 29 YouTube reviews, the Sony WH-CH720N earns an Index score of 3.9/5, ranking #24 among Over-Ear Headphones. Reviewers most often praise its comfort, features, sound quality, while the most common criticisms concern other, noise cancellation.

Reviewers consistently praise the Sony WH-CH720N for being extremely comfortable and very lightweight, with many (55 mentions) noting soft, wide ear cushions and a design suitable for long listening sessions. Battery life is another frequent positive (33 mentions), with reviewers repeatedly citing long runtimes (35 hours ANC on, up to 50 hours with ANC off) and fast charging for quick top-ups. The headphones are also appreciated for offering a strong feature set and app support (31 mentions) — including EQ customization, multipoint Bluetooth, and the Sony Headphones Connect app — and for providing surprisingly good sound quality and effective ANC for the price (29 and 27 mentions respectively).

Criticisms cluster around missing accessories and build choices: many reviewers point out the lack of a carrying case and non-folding design, making them feel less travel-friendly (23 mentions). ANC and transparency are described as merely average and not matching Sony’s flagship cancellation levels (19 mentions), and several reviewers note compromises in features and fit compared with higher-end models — missing touch controls, wear detection, and limited button customizability (17 mentions). Connectivity and codec limitations are also raised (16 mentions), with repeated notes about no Hi-Res/LDAC support and occasional Bluetooth instability, and a minority call out plasticky or less-premium build impressions (11 mentions).
